THRS After-School Chess Classes
| What: | Chess instruction with National Master Justin Gardner and Coach Kacey, including structured play to reinforce class material. |
| Who: | Novice through Advanced. Ages 5-14. Spacing is LIMITED – only 12 spots for Beginner, 12 spots for Novice, and 12 spots for Intermediate/Advanced. |

| Session: | 12-week chess course (Mondays) and 14-week chess course (Wednesdays) Beginners (Mondays ONLY!) – 12 weeks August 26th – December 9th Novice – Advanced (Wednesdays ONLY!) – 14 weeks August 21st – December 4th |
| Dates: | Mondays (Beginners ONLY!) | Time: | Mondays (Beginners ONLY!) from 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. (Kindergarten – 4th Grade) Wednesdays (Kindergarten – 4th Grade – Novice – Advanced ONLY!) from 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Wednesdays (5th Grade – 8th Grade – Novice – Advanced ONLY!) from 3:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. |
| Levels: | Beginners (Mondays ONLY!) – completely new to chess or needing a refresher from Fall 2023/Spring 2024. Novice (Wednesdays ONLY!) – knows how the pieces move. Intermediate (Wednesdays ONLY!) – knows castling and development. Advanced (Wednesdays ONLY!) – knows tactics, pins, and skewers. |
| Coach Kacey will teach the Beginner students. Coach Justin and Coach Kacey will co-teach the Novice, Intermediate & Advanced students. |

| Tuition: | $370 for the 12-week Beginners Continued on Mondays. $430 for the 14-week Novice-Advanced on Wednesdays. |
| Chess sets and boards are provided. |
