School is officially back in session and the chess tournaments have resumed after a nice (and very hot) summer break. 170 kids attended this annual event run by Mr. Liptrap. In the never ending rivalry between TH Rogers and the Village School, this tournament was a good kickoff for the fall tournament schedule. In the Elementary Championships, TH Rogers and the Village School finished 1st and 2nd respectively with TH Rogers scoring 14.5 team points and the Village School scoring 13 team points. I was extremely proud to see one of my students cross the 1000 barrier for the first time. Hard work definitely pays off. Keep up the great work boys and girls!
